Privacy Policy

• There is no account and no sign-up.
• Speech is generated on your device. Your text is never sent to us or to an AI service to be read aloud.
• Text in scanned pages and photos is recognized on your device.
• Your documents and library are stored only on your device.
• The app sends anonymous usage statistics that never include your text, file names or web addresses.
• The app shows no ads.

The documents, text and web pages you add, scanned pages, your library with folders and tags, reading positions and settings are stored in the app’s storage on your device. Items you share to the app from other apps are kept in the app’s shared folder on the same device until the app picks them up. We have no access to any of this.

• Voice downloads. Voice models are downloaded from Hugging Face the first time you use a voice. Like any web server, Hugging Face receives your IP address and technical request data. No text or documents are sent.
• Web pages and links. When you open a web page in the built-in browser or add a link, the app loads that page directly from its website, the same way a browser does. That website receives your IP address and request data under its own privacy policy.
• Classic books. When you open a book from the catalog, the app downloads it from a public domain library. The library receives your IP address and request data.
• Analytics and purchases. Described in the next sections.

To learn which features are used and where the app fails, the app sends usage events to Amplitude, an analytics service (data stored in the United States). Events describe actions, such as “a PDF was imported”, “playback started” or “the paywall was shown”, with counts and technical details: file format, number of words, reading language, voice, app and OS version, device model and country. They are tied to a random device identifier created by the analytics SDK, not to your name, email or Apple Account.

Events never contain your text, document titles, file names, search queries, web addresses or the content of pages you open. Analytics data is not used for advertising and is not linked to your identity.

Pro is sold through the App Store, so Apple processes your payment; we never see your payment details. To confirm and restore Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service. It receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase receipt and transaction data, and basic device information such as the app and OS version and your App Store country. It does not receive your documents or your name.

The camera is used only when you scan a page. When you pick photos, the app gets only the photos you choose. Images are processed on your device and stay there.

The app contains no advertising, does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and does not access your device advertising identifier.

This website uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which count visits without cookies. With your consent (or where consent is not required by law), it also uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how pages are used. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Serbia, Google Analytics cookies stay off until you press “Accept” in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

If you write to us, we receive your email address and your message, and use them only to answer you. Support emails are kept for up to 3 years after the conversation ends.

You can delete documents in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription: cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Analytics events are kept for up to 2 years. Purchase records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat as tax and accounting law requires.

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. Since your documents never reach us, such requests usually concern support emails, analytics or purchase records. Write to support@aloudy.app; we answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Serbia (poverenik.rs) or to the data protection authority in your country.

Aloudy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We will update this policy when the app changes how it handles data. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app. The effective date at the top shows the current version. See also the Terms of Use.

The controller of your personal data is the developer of Aloudy, based in the Republic of Serbia. You can reach us at support@aloudy.app. We process data in line with the Serbian Law on Personal Data Protection and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
